THE ORONO LADIES BOOK CLUB

ORONO, MN

This group knows how to start the day out right with a brunch.  Joy Ann hosted the delicious brunch and discussion at her beautiful home one morning in February.  The artichoke/cheese bake was so yummy, along with the fruit, bread, coffee and juices. We then gathered around a circle in the family room for a discussion about the women in The Fortunate Four.  What a delight to learn one of the women had been surprised to discover her neighbor's love story (Donna from "The Bride and Groom Show") was included in the book.

Their book club was originally formed by member Anne, after her 2003 move from suburban Chicago.   She had started a book club there and had a desire to meet regularly with a group of interesting, funny, and intelligent women in the Minnesota.  She decided a book club was the perfect way and a group was formed over the next couple of months.  Anne says, "I love the process of choosing books and the discussion that these books promote.  Throughout all this, we learn more about ourselves and each other.  I think women benefit so much from spending time together.  We have so much to share and gain."
