LINO LAKES SENIOR CENTER BOOK CLUB

I quickly learned that this was a very active group of women.  Thanks to Peg, the activity coordinator,   they had discovered quaint tea rooms, enjoyed various local excursions, and even taken European tours.

We enjoyed a wonderful pot luck brunch including a fantastic "crock pot" oatmeal that wasn't close to any bland oatmeal you may have ever tasted.  This one could win a cooking contest.

While we enjoyed the morning treats, we discussed the women who shared their stories in The Fortunate Four & Other Journeys of the Heart.  One of their observations from many of the stories was on the open hospitality and generosity of strangers in that era.  Also, we wished that we had asked our mothers more personal questions about their journeys while we still could.  It didn't seem important at the time.

I thank you ladies, for the nice morning spent together.  Here are a few of the comments from our time together.
